Lesley1264's Shop

Average Rating3.73
(based on 66 reviews)

This shop provides resources for busy PSHE/Citizenship teachers who find that the subject is constantly 'on the move'. I am Head of Department in a secondary school and I am constantly changing the resources that we use as things change in the world around us. The introduction of British Values as a separate topic has been challenging but I hope that the resources on offer here will help you to facilitate these sessions. I also teach English (my specialism) so there are English resources too.

EXTREMISM and RADICALISATION Pupil workbook 24 pages

(4)
A 24 page workbook which begins with different forms of ACTION taken by campaign groups to force change (direct, indirect and illegal) Then work on the action taken by a number of groups: The Suffragettes, The IRA, THE EDL and ISIL/ISIS. The texts can be read alongside youtube clips or pupils can simply answer the comprehension questions. Pupils assess how 'EXTREME' these actions are after working on the definition of EXTREMISM. It moves through to TERRORISM and how terrorist organisation recruit young people, how people become RADICALISED and what you should do if you suspect someone is being radicalised. Small, individual tasks are included (mix and match tasks, colour-coded tasks, definition tasks and other puzzles. This definitely needs teacher input and I have tried to keep it as factual as possible but in as simple a form as possible. There will be a corresponding PPT added soon. A challenging topic that now needs to be part of the PSHE/Citizenship curriculum. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SAMPLE PAGE VIEWED DOES NOT ADEQUATELY REFLECT THE CONTENT OF THIS BOOKLET BUT I CAN'T CONTROL WHICH PAGE(S) ARE SEEN AS SAMPLE CONTENT
